ÖSD Certificate A2

Those taking the exam ÖSD Certificate A2 (previously: A2 Grundstufe Deutsch 2) Participants should be able to communicate at an elementary level in simple, routine situations of everyday and professional life.
This exam for learners of German aged 14 and over provides proof of linguistic competence in routine situations involving familiar topics and activities.
The skills tested are reading, listening, writing and speaking. The focus of this level is on the receptive skills of reading and listening.

Reading comprehension

Two tasks with different test formats are used to test global and detailed comprehension.
Duration: 30 minutes

Listening comprehension

Three tasks test global, detailed and selective comprehension of authentic, simple listening texts spoken in standard language from Austria, Germany and Switzerland on everyday topics.
Duration: approx. 10 minutes

Writing

In response to an impulse text, a personal e-mail is to be written, which is to be evaluated using defined criteria (see evaluation sheet ).
Duration: 30 minutes

 

Speak

After a monologue task (talking about oneself), a short conversation is held on an everyday topic, which is assessed using defined criteria (see evaluation sheet ).
Duration: approx. 10 minutes

Audit execution

The ÖSD Zertifikat A2 exam is offered in two modules: written exam (reading, listening, writing) and oral exam (speaking). The modules can be taken and certified individually or in combination. If both modules are passed on one examination date, an overall certificate is issued. Exam participants also receive an overall certificate if they have taken and passed both modules at the same examination center within one year. If an individual module is passed, a module certificate is issued.

The exam is taken by two trained ÖSD examiners. They then assess the candidates’ performance (see overall sheet). The evaluation sheet can be viewed on request. Here you can find the examination regulations and the implementation regulations.

It is possible to take only part of the exam.
Written exam only: € 100,-
Oral exam only: € 60,-
